JOHANNESBURGEST. 2015A DIVISION OF CORNERSTONE IMPACT VENTURES

We put brands on the walls that 80% of South Africa walks past every day.

In the township, the corner is the landmark. The gathering place where ideas and dreams are born, the anchor of every street's economy. Own the corner house and you own the gateway: the street knows you, and trusts you, because you represent it.

01 / The Network

The largest dedicated township media asset in the country. Built on the ground, not in a boardroom.

Township walls, spaza storefronts, taverns, taxis, airport buses and the shelf itself. Owned, painted by hand, maintained by the community, measured to the till.

1,595contracted touchpoints

Across seven provinces, each one signed with the household, spaza owner or tavern keeper whose wall carries it. Contracts, not handshakes.

21.7mpeople, 532 townships

The audience our network lives with daily. Every site sits on a high-traffic taxi route near a mall, rank or fuel station, painted on permanent walls.

R900bnannual township spend

38% of all South African consumer spending. Brands still plan for the formal 20% and treat the rest as an afterthought. The shoppers noticed.

19mdaily taxi passengers

The country's real prime time. Our in-taxi TV puts you in the passenger's line of sight for a 15-minute ride they cannot skip, scroll past or mute.

02 / The Work

Ten years of paint, people and proof.

The Kasi Partner Network

Every wall has a family behind it. We pay them.

We contract directly with the households, spaza owners and tavern keepers whose walls carry our media. Formal partner agreements with exclusive tenures, not handshakes. Media rental becomes stable monthly income, and partner sites gain fast internet through the Kasi Partner Network.

03 / The Model

Every campaign should pay twice. Once for the brand. Once for the corner it lives on.

Community first

We hire, train and buy in the communities we brand in. Sites are contracts with real households, not rented poles.

Excellence, measured

UHD airbrush craft, audited inventory, geo-tagged proof of presence, monthly reports. Infrastructure, not paint jobs.

10% to purpose

A minimum of 10% of net profits funds the Esther Motsiri Foundation: orphaned youth, education access, school shoe drives.

The 2027 ambition

R5m+

paid into partner households in two years, media money that stays on the street it came from

75

youth and interns employed, trained and supported through campaigns

500+

sites with free Wi-Fi deployed by 2027

100%

of sites painted, maintained and surveyed by youth hired from the community they stand in

For brands this is not charity on the side. It is why our sites do not get defaced, why landlords renew, and why communities welcome the campaigns we bring, and buy them. Purpose is the moat. See the full purpose story →

04 / Media with Purpose

Harpic Hygiene for Her. Dignity you can build and brand.

With Harpic and the City of Joburg we built and branded women-only sanitation facilities in Kaalfontein, a community still reliant on shared bucket toilets. Then our field teams activated every spaza shop in the area, merchandising, seeding and price-point discipline, so the demand the programme created was met with supply at the shelf.
